I ran into this problem yesterday, the Apple Mobile service that works with iTunes and the iPods/iPhones does not appear to be 100% compatible with Windows Vista yet. It gives you a continuous barrage of error messages about the AppleMobile service crashing, over and over again. The solution to this, for the time being, is to change the executable icon (iTunes.exe) in the iTunes directory to run as 'Administrator'. This pushes the program through using compatibility mode. It does pop up two messages to begin with (one asking if it's okay to run as admin, and the second warning you that you're running this in compat mode) but otherwise from that, the errors go away. This will fix the issue until Apple is able to get their stuff working with Vista.
I told the client yesterday to just go ahead and upgrade to the latest edition in about 2-3 months. Hopefully, by then, they'll have the imcompatibility fixed.
We had an issue this weekend with restoring a server. The client was running Server 2003 SBS, and was using the built-in server backup feature as there daily full system backup. The client was also utilizing exchange mail.
We went to the clients location to upgrade their drives to larger drives, and tried to restore the OS from the server backup file. Unfortunately, the backups would not restore the exchange settings, and we had to put the server back to it's original condition, and come up with a better solution.
Over this past week we were trying out some different imaging softwares. We came across a program called ShadowCopy that worked awsome, and the server has now been restored to the new drives, and is working perfectly now.
If any of you are going out on a job that requires imaging drives, please contact the office in advance, and we can advise you how to obtain the software.
